ProLayers Launches Building Envelope Company Focused on Commercial Energy Efficiency
HOUSTON, TX — May 1, 2026 — ProLayers announced its official launch as a building envelope solutions company focused on improving commercial building energy efficiency as a global supplier of advanced window and glazing retrofit technologies. Industry veterans Harry Rahman and Heidi Kurtz, former Director of Membership at NAESCO, bring decades of experience to the energy efficiency market.
Founded by Harry Rahman, who has 26 years of experience in the window film and building envelope industry, ProLayers is focused on helping ESCOs, utilities, contractors, and building owners address one of the most overlooked areas in commercial building performance: the windows. “Windows remain one of the weakest parts of the building envelope from an energy efficiency standpoint,” said Rahman. “ProLayers was created to provide cost-effective solutions that improve building performance without the disruption/expense of window replacement.”
ProLayers provides solutions designed to:
• Reduce solar heat gain and loss
• Improve thermal performance of the existing glazing
• Lower HVAC use
• Improve occupant comfort
• Support sustainability and decarbonization goals
The company is a member of NAESCO, works “At Risk” and can supply/ train ESCO installers as well as do “turnkey” projects with its ESCO partners. “As a global supplier we can help you start your own division with our technologies and not just limit you to the margins of turnkey projects”. It supports projects involving safety/security, bird strike mitigation, anti-graffiti protection, and exterior modernization. As part of its launch, ProLayers is actively pursuing partnerships with ESCOs, utilities, consultants, & organizations across the energy efficiency industry.
