Job Description

The successful candidate will support the Customer Service Business Unit (CSBU) and will be responsible for managing the development and implementation of CPUC authorized programs. Typical responsibilities include: directing the program design, overseeing evaluation analysis, as well as overseeing the delivery of the programs; filing all California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) requirements in order to comply with regulatory requirements; providing strategic direction to the project teams including complete budget responsibilities and project delivery scheduling; serving as the primary program and technical leader for a broad area of knowledge; managing the evaluation, development, and multiple projects or a single major project that have major financial or operational impact to the business unit or Company; representing the Company with regulatory agencies, contractors, suppliers, customers, other departments, and/or other parties as required and acting as a key consultant to senior management; responsible for overseeing technical staff to support business needs and performing other duties as assigned.

Experience Level/Requirements

Must possess seven or more years experience in project and/or product management including five or more years managing projects and/or products of significant impact to a business unit, demonstrated by managing and implementing medium to large multidisciplinary projects, including identifying, maintaining, and/or adjusting the cost, scope, and resources. Must be able to manage vendors, and oversee the formal planning, tracking and reporting of a project performance, as well as experience managing cross-functional teams. Demonstrate the knowledge of building systems and efficiency opportunities. Demonstrate experience working with engineering construction issues, research methodologies, financial analysis/accounting and project management. Demonstrated knowledge of market research, program portfolio management, cost/pricing analyses, feasibility studies and business case development is required. Demonstrated knowledge of the procurement policies, objectives, strategies, goals, regulations, laws, as well as providing as they relate to billing and payment processes. Demonstrated knowledge of the project life cycle, project management tools, templates and the product management life cycle. Experience in developing and executing corporate level strategies and strategic plans. Previous experience consulting with clients, including independently identifying client needs, developing action plans, identifying deliverables and presenting results. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills, and be customer focused, to appropriately identify and respond to clients business needs and facilitate the presentation of recommendations. Demonstrated ability to accurately analyze information, integrate people processes, systems, and technologies, and make strategic decisions regarding project scope, impact, policy, development, and implementation. Demonstrated ability to interface effectively with clients, peers, contractors, regulatory agencies and all levels of management to develop solutions and ensure stakeholder buy-in. Demonstrated ability to complete multiple projects and assignments simultaneously while maintaining a client focused orientation. Demonstrate the ability to take initiative and accountability for results. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.

Education and Certifications Required: The successful candidate must possess a Bachelors of Science Degree in Engineering, the Physical Sciences, Business, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Preferred Skills: Experience managing subject matter experts performing engineering research and analysis; a Bachelors Degree in a technical field with graduate degrees in business or other related technical field; licensed in a specialized area; Project management certification.
