Regional Meeting
Northeast Regional Meeting
September 19, 2011 - Consolidated Edison Building, New York, NY
The NAESCO Workshop focuses on the project implementation and
program challenges remaining in one of the most robust markets for
energy efficiency in the United States.
Session Highlights include:
- Examining the impact of the changing political landscape,
capital budget woes, and the ongoing economic volatility on existing
energy efficiency programs and the ability of market providers like
ESCOs to scale up regional energy efficiency investment.
- Identifying the reasons why the implementation of New York
City's aggressive energy efficiency goals appears to be faltering
- Countering the regional challenges which threaten the continuity
of programs that previously had been national models for the
successful creation and delivery of energy efficiency resources.
- Determining the impact of regulatory proceedings by the SEC and
FASB and broader economic forces like rising interest rates on the
ESPC project cost structure
- Assessing if there is any meaningful long term impact of the
ARRA funding on ongoing project development opportunities in the
Mid-Atlantic states
- Reassessing why enticing commercial building owners and managers
to pursue energy efficiency on a portfolio-wide basis has proved so
elusive
